Ken Ken

DOB: 22 Dec 2005
DOA: 26 Jul 2013
RIP: 06 Dec 2017

Ken Ken is the first cat we adopted from Metta cats/dogs shelter.

Ken Ken used to be a street cat in a Singapore industrial estate. One day, he was found with severe burns on his back and suspected to be an abuse case.

Ken Ken was hospitalised for several months and upon discharged, he was taken in by Mettacats shelter.

FIV

We met Ken Ken at the shelter and heard his story. At 9 years old and being FIV+ Ken Ken was considered too sick, too ugly and too old to be adopted so we adopted him.

Ken Ken settled down very fast and was a very adorable and affectionate cat.

6 mths after we adopted him, we wanted a little brother for him so we adopted Gold-D from Mettacats. They connected very fast and Ken Ken became a loving and caring big brother to Gold-D and to the other cats that we rescued.

After Gold-D passed away, Ken Ken was depressed and showed signs of stroke; lose of balance, sudden collapse and shuting of one eye.

We started giving Ken Ken mushroom extract to boost his immune system. His right eye did not recover but the stroke symptoms went away. He was able to move on his own till he passed away.
