Gold-D was abandoned in a Singapore housing estate.

Alone and on the streets, Gold-d was very trusting and hence highly attractive to animal abusers.

He was very lucky to be found and rescued by Mettacats shelter. At the shelter, Gold-D was very easy going and got along very well with the cat and dog residents.

Ken Ken and Gold-D

After we adopted Ken Ken, we wanted him to have a little brother. Mettacats recommended Gold-D because of his easy going nature.

Initially, Ken Ken was a little guarded. But after a few days, Gold-D bonded with Ken Ken, and they became extremely affectionate to each other, always grooming and hugging each other.

Actually, we discovered much later that Gold-D was older than Ken Ken. But we got so used referring him the precious little brother.

FIV

Gold-D is FIV+ and shortly after we adopted him, he was losing weight. The vet commented that he does not put on weight, this might be a sign of cancer.

Every mouthful of food he was willing to eat became very crucial. But were were concern about carrageenan as it can cause cancer. And FIV cats are prone to cancer.

That led us to explore our own brand that was eventiually named Gold-D. We do not have the habit of changing the cats name when we adopt so our brand Gold-D happened naturally!

Gold-D as a model

Gold-D and Ken Ken were also the feature of our documentary "We are not a nuisance!". They also appeared in "The Animal Protection Documentary".

Our brand is of course inspired by Gold-D. He is also featured on our Gold-D tuna and anchovy in jelly can food and Gold-D FTO!.

They appear as co founder of Gold-D brand.
